Hi lovelies, so with Covid_19 Coronavirus taking the world by storm and everyone currently in isolation. I’ve decided to make use of my little extra time to get back into blogging. Well, it’s been a smooth transition back since I’ve been overseeing FRUK for a while now. Super excited to be back getting all personal and stuff with you all.
So, my husband and I visited Marrakech last June for a friends birthday party. We initially stayed at Riad Ennakhil Hotel & Spa for a few days. Then moved to luxury villa Domaine Rosaroum, and finally the icing on top was Mandarin Oriental Marrakech.
I must say Marrakech was a dream! Hot, beautiful and fun. So much to do, from it’s top attractions, the Souks and beautiful Riads. I’ll be sharing my favourite spots and where to eat at some point. But for now, here are my top 5 things to do in Marrakech.
1. Moroccan Hammam
This photo was taken a couple of hours after I had the Moroccan Hammam Spa treatment at Riad Ennakhil Hotel & Spa. I must confess, it was one of a kind. I will totally recommend it. Although, I was a bit skeptical at first, but it was truly worth it. My entire body felt refreshed and extremely clean afterwards. lol. Let me know if you’d like me to share my experience on this 🙂
2. A Trip to Medina of Marrakech
Marrakech reminded me so much of Nigeria, lol. You’ve got to bargain for everything. From cabs to shopping. It’s all about negotiating! A piece of advise, make sure you have enough cash when visiting Marrakech. So, we explored the beautiful Medina street market, got to see the incredible spices, kaftans and even bagged some of the infamous Argan oil. I also got to capture some really cool people and spots.
3. Souks
You will get called over, pulled aside and heavily persuaded into buying something. But the Souk is somewhere you must visit if you travel to Marrakech. It can be overwhelming but exciting at the same time. Only buy something if you truly like it and be ready to bargain on price.
4. JardÃn Majorelle
JardÃn Majorelle was a vibe. The Majorelle Garden is a two and half acre botanical garden and artist’s landscape garden. It was a spectacular place to be. Marrakech is a place where all your photos will look incredible on Instagram, no matter the angle. And JardÃn Majorelle, YSL as well as Bahia Palace are some of the places I visited and fell in love with instantly.
5. Bahia Palace Marrakech
The Bahia Palace is another incredible place to visit in Marrakech. Bahia means beautiful or brilliance. And it sure lived up to its name. Another instagrammable spot.
A few other places I’d like to explore on my next trip includes, the Hot Baloon ride, Maison de la Photographie, Saadian Tombs and also El Badi Palace.
Let me know if you’ve ever visited Marrakech and what you got up to? Any preference or recommendations.
Thanks for dropping by!
